With one million flown on various airlines over past 15 years, I have never landed on the Arabian Peninsula. During my visit in Bangkok in the mid-May, I made a five-day leisure trip to Dubai and it turned out to be one of my best leisure trips in my life.

Here is my trip itinerary:


Day One

Depart Bangkok on THAI TG517 at 4:15pm

Arrive in Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 1 at 7:40pm

Take Metro to Al Rigga station from DXB T1 station

Check-in at Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai

KFC dinner


Day Two

Check-out Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai at 11:30am

Hail a cab to JW Marriott Marquis Dubai (JWMM)

Check-in at the 37th floor executive lounge in JWMM at 12 noon

Hop on an SUV to the Desert Safari tour


Day Three

Hotel shuttle bus to Dubai Mall

Burj Khalifa At The Top observation deck

Take Metro to Deira Gold Souq

Ride an Abra ship to Old Souq

Walk through the Central Bank of UAE

Taxi to Al Arab Hotel and the gateway palm island

Sky train to Atlantis

Day Five

Catch a cab to Dubai International Airport Terminal 1

Lufthansa’s Senator Lounge 

Depart Dubai International on THAI TG518 at 8:55pm

Arrive in Bangkok at 6:40am


Above is a simplified itinerary in my Dubai trip to simplify the whole contents of the articles. The overall cost of this trip is about US$1,800, including the airfare and the hotels.
