Lufthansa’s Senator Lounge at DXB T1
May 25, 2014
After walking through a long hallway to the concourse, I looked for the Lufthansa’s Senator Lounge. It is located near the gate C26 at Terminal 1, where my TG flight departs nearby at gate C25. Stepped into the lounge and my first impression was “small.” I mumbled that. Then, an American military service provider passenger, who was relaxing in the lounge, heard it. He agreed that while he was there for several hours and continued to wait for his United flight to IAD till the mid-night. We were the only passengers in the lounge so the tiny lounge wasn't that tiny for us.
We talked a lot to each other about our trips so far. He just had flown from Afghanistan while the news that President Obama made an unannounced trip to Afghanistan hit my iPhone screen. I always like to talk to military personals, who serve for nation’s security. As I am Japanese, I am thankful how American forces back up the regional security in Asia.
Again, the lounge was tiny but the service was great. Food selection went diverse from Asian noodles to salmon sandwiches. All the common beverages including alcohols were available as well. The lounge staff told me that the lounge normally got crowded during the night while we stayed in the earlier evening. It is may be because over supplied United premier passengers, who wait for the mid-night IAD flight, <Click here for oversupplied United premier passengers> occupied the lounge.
