China, Inc.
From the Newsletter, The Sun Investment
China, Inc. is still growing at near double-digits despite China government’s attempt to ease its rapid growth. Last week, the rating agency, Standard & Poor’s lowered U.S. rating to AA+ for the first time ever. In the meantime, EU is facing massive debt crisis. The economy out of China seems very sluggish while China is firing all cylinders. Even though some people think China is over or not trustable in investing, I believe China is still an engine for the world economy. Honestly, it is even hard for me to trust Chinese government and companies when investing, there are lots of things to know about the economy in order to profit from your investing. Apple Computer, McDonald’s, and Starbucks Coffee, which everyone knows in your daily life, make massive profits from China and their growth all depends on future China, Inc.
While U.S. is facing downturn in its economy due to endless high unemployment numbers since the financial crisis and its own trouble in huge amount of debt, I believe Corporate America is running well into the long run. U.S. companies are healthier than ever, making tremendous profits, not because of cutting their labors, but they make money outside the states. In a long run, those profits will eventually return to an increase in employment numbers, better health care benefits, and investment in education for young ones.
The word, “global economy” is one of the important phrases to know into coming decades. China is opening up to the rest of the world faster and faster and now an engine of the global economy. When investing, we need to know China and how we will make money in investing from now on. I believe Apple’s iPhones will be selling the best in China in less than a half decade, behind U.S. and European nations, thanks to its huge population and a rapid increase in the middle-class. There is so much opportunity in China for thousands of companies from small- to large-caps in worldwide. I am thrilled to invest in those companies and my longtime holdings, Apple Computer, McDonald’s, and Starbucks have already made tremendous returns in past years. My goal in this website is to find future McDonald’s or Apple Computer that can live longer than our lives, innovate cutting-edge technologies, and return profits to investors.
In the past paragraphs, I did not mention about Chinese companies rather I discussed more about companies that have exposure to China; however, I will do mention in later articles. There are many topics that I want to share with readers. This is a first article written for before I am going back to school. Yes, I will be a student again, studying M.A. in Economics at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. Next two years from September 1st, 2011, I will spend most of my time in studying as well as analyzing in Chinese economy. I will travel from Harbin to Shenzhen and from Shanghai to Urumuqi monthly basis to uncover China, Inc. Again, my goal still remains the same, make money from investing. However, I will focus on stocks that have exposure to China so please be aware that the risks in investing in China-related stocks is relatively high; on the other hand, may give you higher returns.
Lastly, I am thrilled to start off this China Bulletin Board in TSI website and wish to provide meaningful research results to readers. Next few articles will be Chinese culture. It is better to know some culture that you might not know in China because doing business out of the U.S. requires them to study counterparts’ culture. Stay tuned!
